Choose your flavor and add all ingredients: heavy whipping cream, sugar, vanilla extract, salt and flavoring to a pint mason jar. Add metal lid and screw on band, making sure to screw on tightly.
Shake your mason jar for 5-6 minutes. When you are done shaking, the mixture should look as though it has thickened.
Check that the lid is closed tight and stick in the freezer for at least 3-4 hours, or overnight.
You can eat the ice cream directly from the mason jar or transfer to a bowl or dish.
