Cream cheese: Make sure to pull it when you pull the eggs to allow it to come to room temperature.

Tips & Tricks

Here are some tips for making these Valentine's Cake Truffles:

Use a cookie scoop to shape the dough into even balls for faster and more consistent results.

Chill the dough for 10-15 minutes before shaping into hearts to make it easier to handle and less sticky.

Skip the heart shapes if you're short on time; simply roll the dough into balls for a quicker, easier treat.

Try different cake mixes: Chocolate, strawberry, or red velvet are fun variations that are perfect for Valentine's Day.

Make the cake ahead of time: Bake the cake the day before and store it in an airtight container to save time on the day you assemble the truffles.

Leftovers/Storage

Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

You can freeze them by placing them on a baking sheet in a single layer to freeze, then transferring them to a sealed bag or container for up to 3 months.

To reheat, let them thaw at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving.
