Stick of Butter Rice
For a side dish that’s as simple as it is delicious, Stick of Butter Rice is the way to go. A buttery, flavorful rice bake made with French onion soup and beef broth makes this a family favorite every time.

Stick of Butter Rice
This is one of the easiest side dishes to make. I LOVE making this when I’m not feeling good or have a headache and the kids still need food.
The ingredients are super simple and it couldn’t be easier to make. You just dump the ingredients into a baking dish, stir, place butter pats over the top, cover with foil and bake.
It’s not only easy to make, but delicious as well.
Ingredients

Rice: Use long-grain white rice for the best texture. I use Jasmine rice. Avoid instant rice, as it doesn’t hold up well in baking and might turn mushy.
French Onion Soup: Make sure to use the condensed version for a thicker, richer sauce that helps the rice cook perfectly.
Beef Broth: You can use homemade or store bought.
Butter: We use unsalted butter.
How to Make
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Add the rice into a 9×9 baking dish.
Pour in the beef broth and condensed French onion soup, then stir to mix everything together.
Cut the butter into small pieces and spread it evenly over the rice mixture.

Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake it in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes.

Stir the rice well and serve.
Leftovers/Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
To reheat, warm in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or bake in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
What to Serve with Stick of Butter Rice
This dish works well as a side dish for meat dishes such as grilled chicken, steak, meatloaf, etc. It also goes well with roasted vegetables, salad, and fruit salad.
