Snowman Cake Pops

Snowman cake pops are a fun and easy way to make a holiday treat that looks as good as it tastes.

These cute snowmen are not as hard to make as you might think.

They are made with simple ingredients like vanilla muffins, Oreos, and cream cheese, and then covered in white chocolate.

The best part is you get to decorate each snowman with eyes, a nose, and buttons just like a real snowman.

Perfect for family gatherings or school parties, these cake pops are a hit with kids and adults alike.

Making these is a fun way to spend time together in the kitchen while creating a treat everyone will love.

Ingredients

Ingredients: Muffins, white chocolate, gummies, dark chocolate, sticks/straws, cream cheese, and Oreos.

Cream Cheese: Make sure it’s softened to room temperature before mixing.

Vanilla Muffins: Use plain, store-bought vanilla muffins or homemade ones if you prefer.

Oreo Cookies: Regular Oreos are the most classic choice for this recipe, but feel free to experiment with other flavors.

White Chocolate: For the coating, use good-quality white chocolate chips or bars.

Dark Chocolate: You can use a high-quality dark chocolate or even chocolate chips—just make sure it's melted to a smooth consistency.

Cake Pop Sticks or Straws: Wooden sticks work well, but if you’re using straws, make sure they are sturdy enough to hold the weight of the cake pops. You can also cut them to a shorter length for easier handling.

Gummies or Sprinkles: Use small gummies like orange-flavored ones for the snowman’s noses, or choose colorful sprinkles for extra decoration. Make sure the gummies are soft enough to press into the cake pops without falling apart.

How to Make

Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse them until they turn into fine crumbs.

Next, crumble the vanilla muffins into small pieces using your hands or a fork until you have a fine, crumbly texture.

Then, stir in the cream cheese and use your hands to combine everything into a smooth dough that is easy to shape.

Once the dough is ready, divide it into 16 equal portions.

Melt about a quarter of the white chocolate. You can do this in the microwave, heating it in short bursts, or over a double boiler.

Roll each portion into a ball, then thread one ball onto a cake pop stick, apply the melted white chocolate to the top of it and then thread another ball over it to form the body of the snowman.

Repeat with the remaining dough balls.

Place the cake pops on a tray and freeze them for at least an hour, or until they are firm and well-chilled.

While the cake pops are chilling, melt the remaining white chocolate. You can add this to the melted white chocolate and then continue melting it until it's all melted.

Once the chocolate is melted, dip each cake pop into the white chocolate, making sure to coat both cake balls completely.

Allow the cake pops to dry and set before decorating.

For decoration, melt a small amount of dark chocolate and use a piping bag or toothpick to draw the snowman’s eyes, mouth, and buttons.

Add a gummy or sprinkle to each snowman for the nose.

Tips & Tricks

Here are some tips for making the best Snowman Cake Pops:

Use store-bought muffins to save time—pre-made vanilla muffins work just as well as homemade.

For a smoother chocolate coating, use a small deep bowl when dipping the pops to get an even coat without too much mess.

Make your own cake pop sticks by cutting paper straws to size.

Use candy melts instead of chocolate if you want a quicker, no-temper method for coating the pops, but be aware they may not have the same flavor.

Get creative with decorations—use mini chocolate chips for buttons, or swap the gummy nose for a small candy corn or orange sprinkle for a different look.

If you don’t have a food processor, crush the Oreos in a sealed plastic bag using a rolling pin to save time and clean-up.

Leftovers/Storage

Store leftover cake pops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

If you want to freeze them, place the cake pops on a tray in a single layer and freeze until firm, then transfer them to a freezer bag or container.

To thaw, let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving, or refrigerate overnight.

Notes

Melting the chocolate: If the white chocolate is too thick for coating, you can add a small amount of coconut oil or cocoa butter to thin it out.
Drying support: To allow the cake pops to dry properly after dipping them in chocolate, you can stick them into a Styrofoam block or use a cake pop stand.
No stick option: If you don’t have sticks or straws, you can make smaller balls and serve them as truffles in cupcake liners.
