Ingredients for Ravioli Lasagna

Ingredients:  parmesan, pepper, salt, frozen ravioli, egg, Italian seasoning, Ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce.

Marinara sauce: Choose your favorite marinara sauce or make your own.

Frozen ravioli: Choose your favorite type of ravioli, whether cheese-filled or meat-filled.

Ricotta cheese: Use whole milk ricotta for a richer taste.

Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated Parmesan will provide the best flavor.

Egg: The beaten egg helps bind the ricotta mixture together.

Seasonings: Feel free to adjust the seasonings to taste or add your favorite herbs for a personal touch.

Mozzarella cheese: Freshly shredded mozzarella melts better than pre-shredded cheese. You can freeze the block of mozzarella it for about 15 minutes to make it easier to shred.

How to make

To make the lasagna, preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 casserole dish.

Spread about a cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of your prepared casserole dish.

Layer frozen ravioli over sauce.

In a bowl, mix ricotta with parmesan, egg, seasonings and 1 cup of mozzarella until well blended.

Cover casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 40 ounces frozen ravioli
  • 15 ounce ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded, divided

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Spread about a cup of the marinara sauce over the bottom of the casserole dish to create a thin layer.
  • Over the marinara sauce, make an even layer of frozen ravioli.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the ricotta, parmesan, egg, seasonings, and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese until well blended.
  • Drop dollops of the ricotta mixture over the ravioli and then spread as evenly as possible. Over the ricotta, sprinkle lightly with about 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese. Drizzle with half of the remaining marinara sauce.
  • Repeat the layers of ravioli, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce.
  • Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the casserole from the oven and remove the aluminum foil. Top the casserole with any remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
