Chicken Sliders

These chicken sliders are the ultimate easy win – simple to make, easy to customize and always a hit!

You can use rotisserie chicken and pick any sauce you like, such as BBQ or ranch. Add the chicken into Hawaiian rolls and bake until warm.

They are perfect for game days, parties, or quick family dinners.

Ingredients

Ingredients: cilantro, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, cheese, Hawaiian sweet rolls, chicken, butter, and onions.

Cooked shredded chicken: Rotisserie chicken works really well. You can also use leftover baked or grilled chicken if you have some on hand. Just make sure it’s shredded into small, even pieces so it fits nicely on the sliders.

Your favorite sauce: BBQ, buffalo, ranch, or honey mustard all taste great.

Hawaiian sweet rolls: You can use any small dinner roll, but we like the sweetness of Hawaiian rolls.

Cheese slices: Cheddar, provolone, or pepper jack all melt nicely and each brings a different flavor.

Melted butter: Brushing the tops with butter makes the buns golden.

Garlic powder: A little sprinkle adds just the right amount of flavor without being overpowering.

Optional toppings: Try chopped cilantro, sliced red onion, or pickles—whatever fits with the sauce you picked.

How to Make

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, mix the shredded chicken with your favorite sauce until the chicken is fully coated.

Spoon the sauced chicken evenly over the bottom buns.

Place a half slice of cheese on top of each portion of chicken, if using.

Add any optional toppings, like red onion or chopped cilantro, depending on the sauce you chose.

Tips & Tricks

Here’s some tips for making these chicken sliders:

Mix and match sauces to create your own flavor combo (like buffalo + ranch).

Add toppings that match the sauce—red onion for BBQ, celery for buffalo, or pickles for honey mustard.

Cut the entire pack of rolls in half at once using a serrated knife to keep them all even.

Line the baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

If making ahead, assemble the sliders without butter and garlic powder, then add that right before baking.

Use a baking dish with sides to help hold the sliders together while they bake.

Leftovers/Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the oven at 325°F for about 10 minutes or until warmed through.

To freeze, wrap individual sliders tightly in foil or plastic wrap, place in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 2 months.

What to Serve with Chicken Sliders

Here are some of our favorites to serve with Chicken Sliders:

Potato wedges: they go great with chicken sliders.

Coleslaw: another perfect side for these sliders.

Pickles: A tangy side that cuts through the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls.

Sweet potato fries: A slightly sweet option that pairs well with BBQ or ranch sliders.

Mac and cheese: This is a hit with both kids and adults.

Side salad: Light and simple.
