Caprese Skewers

Caprese Skewers are a simple and delicious snack or appetizer that everyone will love.

They combine fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil then drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze.

These skewers are perfect for any party or just a quick treat.

Ingredients

Ingredients: mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic glaze.

Cherry or grape tomatoes: Look for tomatoes that are firm and vibrant in color.

Fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine): Choose high-quality mozzarella for the creamiest texture. If possible, buy it packed in water for a fresher taste.

Fresh basil leaves: Fresh basil makes a huge difference! Pick leaves that are bright green and avoid any wilting or browning spots.

Olive oil: Extra virgin olive oil has the best flavor, so use that for drizzling.

Balsamic glaze: You can use regular balsamic vinegar, but a glaze adds a thicker, sweeter finish to the dish. If you don’t have a glaze, reduce vinegar to make your own.

Small wooden skewers or toothpicks: Pick toothpicks or skewers that are sturdy enough to hold all the ingredients together without breaking. Choose a size that makes for easy eating!

How to Make

Rinse and pat dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.

If the mozzarella balls are packed in liquid, drain them well before using.

Thread a cherry tomato onto a skewer or toothpick, followed by a basil leaf.

If the basil is large, fold it in half or quarters to fit better.

Next, add a mozzarella ball to the skewer, securing the ingredients in place.

Tomato at the top, basil in the middle, and mozzarella at the bottom of the skewer.

Repeat the process with the remaining skewers, arranging them neatly on a serving platter.
