Ingredients

Ingredients: breadcrumbs, barbecue sauce, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, paprika, parsley, apple cider vinegar, pepper, salt, onion, and ground beef.

Ground beef: Look for 80/20 ground beef.

Breadcrumbs: Using plain or seasoned breadcrumbs works well.

Onion: If you're not a fan of raw onion, try sautéing it first to soften the flavor.

Milk: We use whole milk.

Barbecue sauce: Choose your favorite brand or make your own.

Egg: The egg acts as a binder, helping to hold everything together.

Seasonings: We used dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Brown sugar: This is used in the glaze.

Apple cider vinegar: This adds a bit of tang to the glaze.

How to Make

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, milk, barbecue sauce, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Mix everything together until the ingredients are well combined and evenly distributed.

Once the mixture is ready, shape it into a loaf and place it in the prepared baking dish.

Make sure the loaf is compact and evenly shaped to make sure it cooks through.

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Cooking times may vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the meatloaf.

While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl until smooth.

About 10-15 minutes before the meatloaf is done, brush the glaze generously over the top to create a caramelized finish.
