Why We Love Air Fryer Potato Wedges

Who doesn't love potato wedges?

They are tasty and satisfying.

But, you wouldn't necessarily think to make them in an air fryer.

Here is why you should air fry potato wedges:

  • Air fried potato wedges are super crispy.
  • They are light. So, you don't need to worry about eating them.
  • They are easy to make! Just season and place in the air fryer. Make sure to flip about halfway through and you are good to go.

Choosing the Best Potatoes for Potato Wedges

You will find several varieties of potatoes on the market. Some have more starch content than others.

So, for the perfectly crispy potato wedges, it is crucial that you choose the right potato.

I love russet potatoes!

They result in crispier potato wedges than white, Yukon, or yellow potatoes. Furthermore, russet potatoes cook faster as well as compared to other potatoes.

If you are looking for a healthier option, you can use sweet potatoes as well. They are jam-packed with health benefits and nutrients.

You might want to consider using organic potatoes, as potatoes are listed in the dirty dozen.

Tips for making the best crispy air fryer potato wedges

Although making potato wedges is a piece of cake, there are a few things you should keep in mind. These are:

  • If you are looking for crispier wedges, soak the potato wedges in cold water before cooking them for at least 30 minutes.
  • Ideally, also add ice to the cold water soak.
  • Make sure to pat the potatoes dry after draining them.
  • Another way of making them crispy is by placing them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. This way, the additional starch will leave the wedges, and you will get crispy potato wedges as you air-fry them!

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons seasoning salt (Lawry’s)
